Make Your Own Chocolate and Other Candy Kits Review & Giveaway

Make Your Own Chocolate and Other Candy Kits Review & Giveaway

I LOVE Chocolate!  Even Chocolate Covered Chocolate!    So, when I was asked if I would like to try my hand at making my own chocolate…it was easy to agree to it.  The kit contains everything you need to make some chocolate treats.

You can always embellish them to customize them to your taste.  So, of course, for my girls, I added a bit of vanilla and a piece of marshmallow to the chocolate.

The directions were pretty easy to follow:

Melt the Cocoa Butter (and resist the urge to use this as a moisturizer).

Add Cocoa Powder and Powdered Sugar and stir until no more lumps.  Place it back on the double boiler for 3 minutes until nice and smooth.

Take off the double boiler and place the thermometer from the kit on the bowl, about an inch or so up from the bottom, so that it is really getting the temperature of the chocolate and not the bowl.  Then stir.  You will stir like your life depends on it.

When it gets to 94%, add 1/4 tsp of vanilla and stir.  Then fill the supplied paper liners and place in fridge for 15 minutes.

That is it…you have chocolate.  I think it is really neat that they also included 2 Cacao beans for you to touch, smell, taste – FYI, not so tasty!   My girls thought it was so interesting to rub the beans and smell them.  They smell like chocolate.
